Nosarieme Garrick is an Emmy-nominated filmmaker whose work blends vérité intimacy with a deep curiosity for culture, politics, and identity. A recipient of the inaugural BPM 360 Grant and an award from the National Endowment for the Arts, her projects have been exhibited internationally, including in the landmark Making Africa exhibition.
She has produced acclaimed television across major networks and streamers, including the Emmy-nominated The New York Times Presents: The Legacy of J. Dilla, the James Beard Award–winning World Eats, Taste the Nation with Padma Lakshmi, Chasing Life with Sanjay Gupta, and United Shades of America with W. Kamau Bell.
Her debut feature documentary, Last Weekend in October, set against Lagos Fashion Week, builds on this foundation—offering an intimate portrait of ambition, artistry, and class in contemporary Nigeria.
From teaching English in Paris, to being embedded in New York’s nightlife and creative scenes, to connecting with cultural movements across the African continent, Garrick has always sought out the spaces where creativity and community collide. That cross-continental perspective continues to shape her vision as a filmmaker today.
